About Us

You've spent years wondering if it was real. We're here to tell you, it was!

IT is a survivor-led space for narcissistic abuse education and recovery. We exist to name what happened to you, to help you understand it, and to walk alongside you as you find your way back to yourself.

“Before you can heal from something, you need to be able to name it.

That’s what IT is for.”

Where We Came From

Built From The Inside Out

Illumination Transformation was not born in a boardroom. It was born from lived experience, from trauma, from survival, and from the long journey of trying to understand what had happened and how deeply it can shape a life.

For many survivors, abuse is not always obvious while it is happening. It can look like confusion, self-doubt, fear, exhaustion, and the constant feeling that something is wrong but you cannot fully explain why. It can leave you questioning your instincts, your memory, your worth, and even your right to trust what you feel.

Many survivors know what it is like to live on edge.
To hear a key in the door and feel their body tense.
To listen to footsteps and immediately assess the mood in the room.
To mistake hypervigilance for normality because survival has been their baseline for so long.

When you grow up around harm, control, instability, or chronic emotional injury, you do not move through the world the same way. You learn to adapt. You become alert, careful, and highly attuned to danger. These responses may once have helped you survive, but over time they can become exhausting, isolating, and deeply life-altering.

Illumination Transformation was created from that understanding.

It was built on the belief that survivors deserve more than vague language and silent suffering. They deserve clarity. They deserve education that names harmful patterns and explains their impact. They deserve support that helps them rebuild trust in themselves, reconnect with who they are, and move from survival into healing.

The founder of IT knows what it means to spend years trying to make sense of experiences that shaped identity, safety, relationships, and self-worth. That understanding did not arrive all at once. It came through lived experience, reflection, research, community, and finally finding the language to describe what had long felt impossible to explain.

And with that came a powerful realisation: survivors should not have to spend decades in the dark trying to understand what happened to them.

That is why IT exists.

Illumination Transformation exists to educate, support, and empower survivors, and to help break the cycle of abuse. Our work is grounded in the belief that healing begins with clarity, and that when people are given the right language, tools, and support, they can begin to reclaim their voice, their safety, and their joy.

This work is deeply personal. But it is also much bigger than one story.

Too many people are living in confusion, shame, fear, and silence without the framework to understand what they are experiencing. Too many are carrying survival responses that once protected them, but now leave them exhausted and disconnected. Too many are trying to find their way back to themselves without enough support.

We believe survivors deserve better.

They deserve to be seen.
They deserve to be informed.
They deserve to feel safe.
And they deserve the chance to create a different future.

Illumination Transformation exists so survivors do not have to spend decades in the dark searching for answers. We are here to bring language to lived experience, clarity to confusion, and hope to those rebuilding from harm. This is about more than recovery. It is about breaking cycles and creating generational change.

What We Stand For

Things We Believe Deeply

You are not alone in this

What you’re experiencing is real. The confusion, the self-doubt, the quiet erosion of who you used to be, none of that was your imagination. We will say this as many times as you need to hear it.

Understanding is the first act of healing

Before you can heal from something, you have to be able to name it. When a survivor finally understands what happened to them, something profound shifts. That shift is the beginning.

Survivors are not broken

The ways you have adapted to survive hyper-vigilance, people-pleasing, emotional numbness weren’t weaknesses. They were intelligence. Your nervous system was protecting you. We honour that.

Healing isn't linear

There’s no graduation day from this work. Some days you’ll feel free; others will pull you back. That’s not failure that’s the process. We’re not here to rush you through it.

This affects all kinds of relationships

Narcissistic abuse doesn’t only happen in romantic partnerships. It happens in families, friendships, workplaces, and communities. All of it counts. All of it belongs here.

Your joy is part of recovery

Recovery isn’t just about surviving the pain, it’s about remembering what it felt like to be yourself. Reclaiming delight, play, ambition, and rest. That’s not a luxury. That’s the goal.

Where We Came From

What IT is and What it isn't

We think it’s important to be honest about what we are. In a space as vulnerable as this one, trust requires transparency.

If You Found Your Way Here, Something In You Is Already Awake.

I’m so glad you’re reading this.

The fact that you’ve found your way here means something in you is looking for change, clarity, and hope. Take a deep breath and know this: you are in a space created with deep understanding, care, and genuine respect for what survivors go through.

Everything here is survivor informed and built with compassion, insight, and a commitment to helping people feel seen, supported, and less alone.

If you’re here, there is a good chance you have been carrying a lot on your own.

You may have people around you and still feel completely isolated in what you are experiencing. You may feel unable to explain it fully. You may feel exhausted, confused, ashamed, or like you are holding too much in silence.

We want to help change that.

Our vision is to build a space where survivors can access education, support, and connection and to keep expanding that support so that fewer people have to sit alone in their darkest moments.

Many survivors know what it is like to be pushed beyond their limits, to finally react after prolonged pressure, and then be left questioning themselves. Many know what it is like to feel blamed, misunderstood, or made to carry the weight of something far bigger than a single moment.

That is why clarity matters. That is why language matters. That is why healing matters.

Some of what we share here may feel confronting. Some articles may challenge you to look honestly at your relationships, your boundaries, and what safety really means for you. For some people, healing may involve distance. For others, it may involve support, structure, education, and careful next steps. Every journey is different.

What matters is this: change is possible.

Healing yourself is not only about your own life. It can change the future of your family, your relationships, and the generations that come after you. Choosing healing, safety, and truth is one of the most powerful things a person can do.

That is what we call being a cycle breaker.

A cycle breaker is someone who chooses that the pain does not continue through them. Someone who chooses awareness over silence, healing over repetition, and a different future over inherited harm.

That matters deeply.

Life is already hard enough. No one should have to navigate fear, control, confusion, or emotional harm alone and especially not children.

But you are here now. And you do not have to walk through this alone anymore.
